This week, the Feed It Green team had the privilege of visiting Manchester College to talk with students about the exciting world of renewable energy. From ☀️ solar PV and 🔋 battery storage to 🚗⚡ EV charging infrastructure, we explored the technologies that are shaping a greener, more sustainable future.

The UK’s green energy sector is expanding at an incredible pace. With ambitious Net Zero targets on the horizon, there has never been a better time for young people to consider a career in this industry. But for us, social value isn’t just about ticking a box — it’s about giving students the insight, guidance, and inspiration they need to explore real opportunities in the sector.

During our visit, we shared insights on what a career in renewable energy can look like and how emerging technologies are creating a wealth of new roles. Our goal is simple: to show students what’s possible, open doors to meaningful careers, and help build a workforce ready to deliver on the UK’s Net Zero ambitions.

It’s clear that the future of renewable energy is sitting in today’s classrooms, and it was inspiring to see students engage with curiosity, creativity, and excitement. Their questions and enthusiasm reminded us why initiatives like this are so important — connecting education with real-world industry opportunities.

A huge thank you to Manchester College for the warm welcome and brilliant engagement. We’re excited to see where this next generation of talent will take the green energy sector.

🎓 Calling all schools and colleges: If you’d like a sustainability talk from our team, we’d love to get involved and help inspire the next generation of green energy professionals.

Together, we can empower students to not just imagine a sustainable future, but to actively build it.
